tutorial: ROW REAL RECOVERY

I'm back!
is a little 'missing: too busy, writer's block, little desire to pc and a bunch of excuses like they made me feel a bit' away from the blog.
in the meantime, I produced a little 'of little things that sooner or later will post. Meanwhile began last creation: the crowns for the party unity (which is not our union was not, but an annexation of the various Italian states to the kingdom of Savoy ...).

because I am such a dream of producing strafanto ?
idea of \u200b\u200bmy mother: just celebrate the 17th birthday of three friends and found the funny as they thought to honor them making them wear a crown theme throughout the meal (which will be at home, so the fool is on) .

the idea was to do them in cardboard, but it meant the three parts cut out and assemble them in a solid color: mutilate the cards? sacrificing to support another? produce a product uncomfortable to wear and the risk that leave color on the sides accaldate? never!

need:
- 2 A4 sheets (one print and one for the model)
- quilted fabric (or rigid, that type of garden furniture or curtains sun, or felt, even though he will be a bit 'hot)
- ribbons or colored fabrics, white, red and green
- fusible paper if like me you do not have time nor want to be there to sew more ...
- pencil, scissors, iron

I did the following:
- after a quick search on the Internet as a enjoyable to play, I've saved a little larger with gimp , printed, cut and folded in half lengthwise (finding that despite the full-length, the image is not symmetrical).
- took an A4, I folded in half widthwise and I put a mo 'in filing crown folded before. I've reproduced enlarged with pencil the outline of half a crown and then I cut out, thereby generating the model.
- then, just cut open the template, I placed the fusible paper ( here a very clear tutorial on using) and I traced the outline with a pencil. Then I cut along the contours.
- on the back of a piece of quilted fabric (I also had to sew several pieces of fabric because I did not have large enough!) I applied the paper stretching with iron NON STEAM.
- later, I divided the width into three sections, one for each color, the central one is closer, but it is also the longest, so the two measurements are compensated

I started from the left, with the green section: I have raised the paper to the first sign and I folded it lengthwise.

the red area you see is the addition of sewing cloth ... I arranged as I could!
- by failing to provide enough green-white-red fabric (which is why I decided to use the fusible paper: mica I wanted to stay there to sew ribbon belt!), I arranged with the recovery strips proceed in this way:

as seen from the picture, I placed the piece of green ribbon against the paper and fold with patience I stretch with iron NON STEAM being careful not to leak out from the left edge tape, because otherwise the heat melts the glue sticks to the plate and discovered (in short: a disaster ...). Then position it next to another piece of tape already fixed in size and facilities as before, and so on up to cover the entire section.

- same procedure for the right section:

- Finally, the central part: I remove all paper and arrange the white ribbons:

back
front
- then all that remains is Talgar surpluses.
- another pass with the iron NON STEAM, an elastic pants set at both ends and Dahn-tah!
here's the real crown of my recovery!
